Marcel is a little boy of eleven. He has just overheard something he was not supposed to know and the shock comes as a bombshell: his older brother Leo is HIV+.
Marcel is the youngest of four brothers, ages 21 to 11. They have always been a happy, close-knit family. But this sudden tragedy puts the family bonds to the test.
Their parents, only in their forties, have never been prepared for anything like this. To Marcel, and maybe to themselves, they pretend that everything will be alright. But deep down they know that it is just a matter of time before the disease takes Leo away.
Marcel is not duped, and he wants the truth to come out. But neither his parents nor his brothers can bring themselves to speak openly about the situation. They sit and wait in silence, knowing that the family’s future rests with Leo’s fate.
The unspoken truth is too much for Marcel. Although his brother is still alive, death has already cast its dark shadow over the family. Unable to ignore it, frustrated by the silence conspiracy, Marcel loses control and gets into trouble.
