Set in a small coastal town near Boston called Capeside, Dawson's Creek tells the story of four teenagers as they struggle through adolescence. This is particularly true for 15-year-olds Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), an introspective dreamer and Joey Potter (Katie Holmes), a precocious tomboy unaware of her beauty. |
Best friends since childhood, they are about to enter that confusing time in life where nothing is the way it was and nothing is as it seems. |
One of the main characters (Jack McPhee played by Kerr Smith (unfortunatly not gay himself)) is openly gay |
Jack McPhee gave a kiss to a man for the first time on national TV in the US in a popular teen serie. |
A very nice TV-series with three dimensional characters and good stories. It transcends the normal high school series. Worth a look. Two thumbs up. |
More James van der Beek in "The rules of attraction". More Kerr Smith in "Hit and runway" and "The broken hearts club" |
Jack: Yes, I am! You know it. I see how you look at me -- and I know you know. Think about how you treated me and the way you treated Tim. Because he was the real son, and I was different. And as hard as you've tried to stamp it out or to ignore it, I've tried harder. I've tried harder than you, to be quiet, and to forget, and to not bother my family with my problem. But I can't try anymore, because it hurts. I'm sorry, Dad. Andie, I'm sorry. I don't want to be going through this. But I am.
Joey: Dawson, how many times a week do you walk your dog?
Pacey: Gotta hand it to you Dawson, you make me look good.
|
Jack: I'm scared that I'm gonna end up alone. I'm scared that I'm always gonna be someone's friend, or brother, or confidant but never quite... someone's everything. Mostly I'm scared I'm never gonna meet a guy that I love as much as I love you. Andie: [singing] My name is Andie and my brother's the one who's gay / My other brother died. And my daddy went away! Dawson: [singing] The girl that I cared for left me and ran away, / straight into the arms of a guy who turned out to be gay. I got the blues! Yeah! Pacey: You know, this town is the absolute embodiment of dull. Apart from the occasional sex scandal provided by yours truly, nothing happens here. Jack: I don't blame myself for kissing you. I blame you for kissing me back. Pacey: I'm the best sex you'll never have. |
