The basic plot involves a young teen, aspiring to get into NASCAR racing, but, due to his family life, ends up in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, where female prostitution is well OK, but Male prostitution is forbidden. Shortly, our main character meets numerous other male/female hustlers on the boulevard. Quickly, he forms a relationship of sorts with these characters, as he is without money, etc. In time he befriends a few: a young guy and an older female, the later of which has given up the street life for a job at a casino. |
Through a series of disillusionments, false friends, the whole “angst” of the “hustler” scene… the main character finds himself the most trusting of the young gay man that he initially befriended! However, life is not that easy. These two boys go through a living hell, as they live in Las Vegas… where gambling is, indeed, gambling Only problem? These boys KNOW they are gambling with their lives… but Las Vegas doesn’t care!
|
The two main characters are hustlers and discover that there is more than sex for money. |
|
This is a wonderful film for those fans of “My Private Idaho” and “johns”, but if one can not handle the “hustler” mentality, I suggest that it may be a mere rental, not a purchase.
|
Terrific acting throughout! And on the “tissue scale” , well.. it’s about a 3… (“Tissue Scale: the number of times you might CRY… now… what were YOU thinking?) |

Mike: This chick's living in a new car ad.
Scott: It's when you start doing things for free, that you start to grow wings. Isn't that right, Mike. Gary: Dude, if we can't steal from them going into the bar, Dude, we can get them coming out! See, Bob-dude? Mike: I love you, and you don't pay me. Scott: Why, you wouldn't even look at a clock unless hours were lines of coke, dials looked like the signs of gay bars, or time itself was a fair hustler in black leather. Mike: I've been tasting roads my whole life. Scott: When you wake up, wipe the slugs off your face. Be ready for a new day!
[last line] |
Scott: Getting away from everything feels good. Mike: This is a nice home. Do you live here? ... I don't blame you. |
