An authentic lovestory between two men. Frank Ripploh (played by Frank Ripploh) and Bernd Broaderup (played by Bernd Broaderup). Frank is a teacher who keeps his personal life and teaching seperate. Frank needs the adventure, the hunt, crossing borders. He is in Berlin, day and night, searching for a sexual adventure. Bernd works at a cinema and dreams of a quiet life with a little house and a white picket fence. His favourite activities are cooking, cleaning and keeping house. They live together, sleep together but live seperate lives. |
Frank goes to the baths and the streets. Sex is a daily part of his life. Even when he is lying in hospital he goes out looking for sex. He is called Peggy by his friends. The children in his class like him and his colleagues talk behind his back about his preference for men. Bernd has doubts about their relationship. He cooks and cleans for Frank and is faithful but gets nothing in return from Frank. Things come to a head during Berlin's annual Queen's Ball and the morning after. |
This is a autobiographical examination of the director's own sexual escapades and fantasies. Frank Ripploh explores every aspect of gay life in Berlin. |
