Once upon a time, not so very long ago, on the outskirts of a small, beautiful village called kromer there lived two 'wolves' called Seth (Lee Williams) and Gabriel (James Layton). Cocksure Gabriel takes newcomer Seth under his paw and helps reconcile him to the vilification associated with being a wolf. They fall head-over-heels in puppy love, playing together around picturesque waterfalls, secluded woodlands, and moonlit lakes. They join the pack of wolves who have been cast out from their family in a life of bonfire parties and survival via petty theft and livestock munching. |
Nearby in Broome Hall, Fanny (Rita Davies), a wicked old maid, and her goofy accomplice Doreen (Margaret Towner) are plotting to murder their mistress, Mrs Drax (Rosemarie Dunham). In the dead of night, they administer the fatal dose, wheel their dying mistress into the woods and frame the wolves for the crime. Enraged, the Vicar leads the villagers as they hunt down the Wolves, but the Vicar has a dark secret of his own. But who will live happily ever after? Maids or Wolves? |
A clever take on gay werewolves, and not at all what you'd expect. While it doesn't portray gays in the most positive light, it does portray them as entirely human... and as a lot better than many other types of people out there. |
A word of caution: The movie does have a very frustrating and angering ending. |
