Dear [YMLP1],
Happy Valentines day! Hope you have love in your life on this specially romantic day. And a very belated but still sincere happy new year. Due to personal reasons I was unable to send a newsletter last month. My appologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
It will be a very exciting Oscar night this year with no less than 8 nominations for Brokeback Mountain. The first ever gay themed movie to be nominated for best picture. Not only that, it's nominated for all the other major categories. Best actor, best actor and actress in a supporting role, best cinematography, best directing. It seems like Hollywood is waking up to the the true value of a gay themed movie. Now let's see how many oscars it will win. Fingers crossed.
You may have noticed that the background of this newsletter and the website has changed. The poll about the color choice is now closed. And with 29% the winner is what you see now. I think it looks great. You can see the rest of the results below. Also the results for the poll about vhs and dvd is below. Thanks to everyone who voted.
There were 5 new titles and 2 updates added. Read about them below and check them out on the site. There are some beauties among them. In honour of the Oscar nominations (and because I really really like the movie) Brokeback mountain stays on as movie of the month.
Love,
Eric

15
This hard-hitting portrait of a group of teenage boys in Singapore was savaged by the local film censors and labeled "a threat to national security." 15 explores the adolescent world of street kids who live in a separate culture marked by complete addiction to videogame aesthetics. The brilliantly talented director Royston Tan and his moving film have found critical and public acclaim around the world.

Almost normal
In this “Back to the Gay Future” fantasy, Brad Jenkins gets what he thought he wanted – including an idyllic but short-lived romance with his hunky high school crush (Tim Hammer). But now: He’s straight; and everyone around him seems to be gay! This clever turnabout envisions a world of clandestine hetero bars and straight bashing, where the “breeders” are ostracized and the queers are the norm.

Stonewall
From Nigel Finch, executive producer of Paris is Burning, comes a film with love in its heart, respect on its mind, and pumps on its feet. With a great soundtrack featuring the music of the Shangri-Las, Patti LaBelle and Judy Garland, Stonewall mixes a lip-syncing chorus with a Midnght Cowboy sensibility.
