1. What inspired you to be an actor?
I was in college and I got bored with trying to execute people’s expectations. I wanted to do something expressive, and I started doing plays. I think that year I also saw several of my all-time favorite movies all at once, and I decided I would go for it myself.

2. What kind of character do you like to play most and why?
I like dramas. I know that’s not exactly the question. I like stories about people who are struggling with things. I want to be in a war movie. I want to be in a movie that takes place in the 20’s. I want to be in some kind of futuristic sci-fi movie.

3. You played a gay character in Latter days. How was it to do several love scenes with a man?
It was interesting.

4. There are lots of gay men who like to see you in more gay themed movies. Would you like to do more in that genre?
Maybe. Probably not right away though. I wouldn’t hesitate to play a gay character again if the time were right and the script were right.

5. What were the difficulties in portraing a gay man?
I don’t think it was difficult. I wanted to do a good job, I wanted to avoid stereotypes. But there weren’t many more difficulties portraying a gay man than there are portraying a straight man, or any man. Acting is imaginary work and this role took some work but it was not very hard for me to imagine.

6. In the movie Latter days the character Aaron Davis discovers his sexual orientation. Did you have a scimilar experience?
Not really, no.

7. Several reviews of Latter days focused on your fysical appearance more than your acting skills. What do you think of that?
I think that’s alright. Sometimes all I can remember about a person is the physical stuff.

8. What do you think of the fact that men and women see you as a sex object rather than an actor?
It’s cool to be thought of as sexy. If people were saying I was a bad actor but good looking, I guess it would bother me. But I’m not worried about being thought of that way.

9. In Latter days you did nude scenes. Why did you choose to do that?
It was in the script and it was a pretty important aspect of the story. I don’t object to doing nudity. I understand why people do, and in particular why women do, but it’s not an issue for me.

10. What would you never do as an actor?
Take off my clothes. Just kidding.

11. Most embarrassing /worst moment on film/tv?
pass

12. If you weren't an actor, what else would you like to be doing?
Tough to imagine, because I really do like being an actor. I’d still be in the business. I would produce films.

13. Three things you couldn't do without?
Family, Friends, Gas Grill.

14. What do you enjoy doing the most?
Seeing new places, like traveling and camping. Jogging. Swimming. Driving my car.

15. What do you hate doing?
Paying bills.

16. Who do you admire as an actor/actress?
Michael Caine. Ethan Hawke. Joaquin Phoenix. Matt Damon. Anthony Hopkins. Cate Blanchett.Nicole Kidman. Annette Bening. Lots and lots of people.

17. What's your best quality?
I make a mean soufflé.

18. What's your worst quality?
Bad at acting, just good-looking, haha.

19. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Choosing my projects and producing some of my own projects. Extraordinarily wealthy.

20. What would you like to be remembered for?
As an actor or as a person? As a person I would just like to be loved by a few people. And I would like people to know that I had tried as hard as I could to explore the mysteries.

Thanks Steve for this interview. Hope we will see you back in many more movies.
