Sitcom
Sitcom is outrageous black comedy that mercilessly skewers the superficial refinement of the French bourgeois. We’re introduced to a perfectly happy upper-class family whose members include hard-working dad, the doting and attractive mom and their two wonderful children.
But deep within this apparently harmonious household are the seeds of destruction. And those seeds come in the form of a cute, white rat that dad brings home one day as the home’s new pet.
One by one, each family member gets close to the rat and after their encounter, release all of their pent-up anger, sexual desires and secret perversions.
The sweet, brainy son announces he’s gay and soon transforms into a leather and group sex queen; the lovely daughter attempts suicide but ends up a bitchy paraplegic; and even mom gets into the act when her sexual repressions are unleashed.
A no-holds-barred satire sure to delight anyone but those looking for a refined drama in the tradition of Truffaut or Rohmer.
Gay Interest
The son of the family comes out of the closet and announces it to the family at dinner. Later on he organizes orgies and is totally in “the scene”.
Review
A disturbing but interesting movie. Once you get into the story it becomes a good movie. The ending is surprising to say the least.
